Ubisoft Ungkap XDefiant Tidak Sesuai Ekspektasi
Rp8888 -XDefiant merupakan game Ubisoft yang cukup menarik. Namun sayangnya game ini cukup membuat perusahaan struggle untuk mencari pemain dan menjadi salah satu game shooter yang kurang diminati.
Dan dengan pengumuman kontol Assassin’s Creed Shadows yang diundur serta penjualan Star Wars Outlaw yang dibawah ekspektasi, sepertinya game ini juga menjadi faktor tambahan mengapa Ubisoft saat ini sedang “Struggle”.
Ubisoft ME777 Ungkap XDefiant Tidak Sesuai Ekspektasi
CEO Ubisoft yaitu Yves Guillemot baru-baru ini memberikan konfirmasi bahwa XDefiant tidak sesuai eskpektasi. Kabar pengumuman ini didapat dari update Trading Call yang diadakan oleh Ubisoft.
Pada pembicaraan tersebut, Yves Guillemot menjawab pertanyaan menganai mengapa perusahaan tersebut harus mengurangi ekspektasi keuntungan pada kuartal kedua sebesar 30%.
Guillemot menjawab pertanyaan mengenai game-game yang underperform saat ini dimana selain Star Wars Outlaws, mereka juga mengakui bahwa XDefiant tidak sesuai ekspektasi yang diharapkan.
Yves Guillemot kemudian melanjutkan bahwa dirinya akan memberikan lebih banyak detail pada akhir oktober dan dampak terbatas terdapat ekspektasi yang lebih rendah untuk XDefieat.
Ingin Membangun Game Seiring Perjalanan Waktu
Komentar Guillemot cukup berbeda dengan alporan penjualan kuartal pertama perusahaan dimana dirinya melaporkan bahwa game XDefiant ini “memulai dengan awal yang baik karena ingin terus meningkatkan jumlah pemain dengan tempo yang stabil dan merencanakan roadmap kuartal untuk konten yang dapat memungkinkan perusahaan untuk memantapkan game seiring perjalanan waktu”.
Namun sayangnya, berdasarkan laporan Insider Gaming beberapa waktu lalu, game ini cukup sulit untuk mendapatkan 20.000 Concurrent Player dan pemain yang mampu mengeluarkan uang untuk IAP (In-app Purchase) meskipun game tersebut mengatkaan bahwa mereka “tidak mati”.
Diketahui bahwa game berada dibawah 200.000 DAU (Daily Active User dalam 24 Jam) selama bulan Agustus serta telah mencapai Total 1 Juta Pemain. Saat ini, game tersebut masih mengharapkan Season 3 akan menjadi awal yang baik untuk membawa pemain baru dan juga spending yang lebih baik.
Dan sebagai langkah untuk memantapkan hal tersebut, Ubisoft kini berencana untuk membawa game menuju platform Steam meskipun masih belum memiliki kabar pasti. Hal ini menjadi rencana setelah pengumuman game-game Ubisoft selanjutnya akan hadir Day 1 di Steam.
Apakah harapan yang diinginkan sang developer akan tercapai? Mungkin saja. Melihat Steam sendiri merupakan platform yang sangat sering digunakan oleh para gamer terutama platform PC maka wajar saja perusahaan ini ingin kembali ke platform buatan Valve tersebut.
